Healthcare & Social Services Translation
Healthcare translation has two modes: the clinical mode, where technical precision is the primary requirement, and the patient-facing mode, where the text must be precise but also accessible to people...
About this service
We translate patient information leaflets and consent forms for hospital units, clinical research sites, and healthcare networks. We translate internal documentation for healthcare workers: treatment protocols, pharmaceutical guidance, equipment manuals, and staff communications. We work with social services organisations producing multilingual materials for migrant and refugee populations in northern Portugal, where Portuguese, Arabic, Ukrainian, and Tigrinya are the most commonly required target languages. For clinical research, we translate patient-facing trial materials to the standards required by Portuguese ethics committees and international institutional review boards. We do not use machine translation for any healthcare document; the risk profile is simply not compatible with automated output, even post-edited.
